Tony Haley began his musical journey in the late seventies with rock and roll band, The Starliters. He continued for the next two decades with other Sydney based bands, The Zarsoff Brothers, The Eddys and The Comets. He moved to Canberra in 2003 and began crooning with local big bands and various jazz combos with pianist and arranger John Black.

In 2004 he won the ABC’s Panact Award for his recording of ‘Mugga Lane’. Two albums were released by Piranha Brothers during his time in Canberra using arrangements by John Black and featuring the cream of local musicians. They were recorded at Artsound studios under the direction of Tony Hunter.

Haley continues to perform and record, and is currently involved in a collaboration with singer Julie Gilmore. Their latest Piranha Bothers album, ‘20 Hot Hits’ was released in February 2022.
